Welcome to the School of Architecture

SoA's 50th anniversary logo

The 2021-22 academic year marks the 50th anniversary of the first architecture students' matriculation at UNC Charlotte in Fall 1971. Today, the School of Architecture serves more than 300 students in five degree programs, and our roughly 2,500 architecture alumni now span five generations. Collectively, our graduates have contributed a half-century of positive influence on architecture and related disciplines. Let's celebrate!

Guest Lecture Series

This year, the School was thrilled to bring a variety of guest lecturers into our virtual space. The focus of this year's lecture series is diversity and inclusion—an examination of culture and social justice that is both timely and timeless. Our lecturers include practitioners of color and others who work at the scale of urban planning, architecture, installation art, and graphic design. Their contributions to the profession are both provocative and uplifting. Watch them all on our Youtube playlist ⤵
