Admissions

Students interested in UNC Charlotte’s Department of Dance must complete the Department’s application process and be accepted into the university. We recommend that you apply for admission to UNC Charlotte by November 1 to meet the Early Action deadline. The Department does not require an audition for acceptance.

The Department of Dance invites prospective students to an open house, January 29, 2022, that provides opportunities to take classes, meet faculty members and current students, and find out more about scholarships, financial aid, and opportunities within the department. Students from all training backgrounds and dance techniques and/or styles are encouraged to apply.

Faculty and staff welcome the opportunity to get to know prospective students and their families. We encourage students to visit campus during our open house. If you cannot attend the given dates, please contact Undergraduate Coordinator Delia Neil for alternative options for your application.

Campus events & tours

This semester, open house events and tours are virtual. See our Virtual Open House page

Campus tours are available through Admissions. Register for a campus tour and for more information about undergraduate admissions. Incoming students are required to attend a summer Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) program for advising and registration for fall classes.
