All scholarship applicants, including new and returning students, must apply for Dance scholarships through NinerScholars, UNC Charlotte's scholarship portal. Any questions about departmental scholarships should be directed to Chair Dr. Ann Dils.
All students must submit application materials, including an essay and resume. In addition, incoming students (both freshman and transfers) will interview in person or virtually. Interviews will take place in the spring. Please contact the department scholarship coordinator, Department Chair Ann Dils (adils@uncc.edu) to arrange an appointment time.
Scholarship students are active in our department and often act as ambassadors for campus events. Students are welcome and encouraged to reapply each year, as long as they meet the proper criteria.
Incoming Freshman/Transfer Dance Scholarship (Clara H. Stone Scholarship)
Application Deadline Date: March 15, 2022
Scholarship Criteria:
- Eligible Major: Dance
- Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid
- New freshman or new transfer student
- High School/ Transfer GPA = 3.00-4.00
- Quality of application materials
Students who do not have demonstrated financial need may apply to the

Scholarship Criteria:
- Eligible Major: Danceď‚· New freshman or new transfer student
- High School/ Transfer GPA = 3.00-4.00

One-Time Student Achievement Dance Scholarship (Belk Scholarship)
Application Deadline Date: February 15, 2022
Scholarship Criteria:
- Eligible Major(s): BA in Dance
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior
- College GPA = 3.00-4.00
- Quality of application materials
Department of Dance Scholarships
Any dance major, new or continuing, may apply for the Dance Scholarship. These are one-time awards. Students may reapply each year.
