How did you become interested in architecture?
I became interested in architecture in high school, especially in how aesthetics and social justice can manifest into the built environment.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to pursue humanitarian architecture. I also hope to both design and build in opposition to exploitative racial capitalist systems.

What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte, the College of Arts + Architecture, or the School of Architecture?
The sense of community within the School of Architecture is amazing and is one of the most valuable things about the program to me.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I write for the Arts and Entertainment section of the Niner Times and often cover art events in the city.

Can you talk about your experience as a merit scholar?
I am an alumnus of the Levine Scholars program. The scholarship allowed me to fully explore my interest in how architecture can fit into the idea of community service. It also helped connect me with other students who are also interested in helping people through their academic pursuits.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
In my free time, I like to go to thrift stores, read, and paint. I also do film photography.
