How did you become interested in architecture?
I became interested in Architecture freshmen year of high school. We were lucky enough to have actual architecture classes. I would say my inspiration for Design came from New York City, and also Disney Imagineering.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
Similar to the answer above, I hope to one day either own my own firm in New York City or be head of Disney Imagineering (which is the design team for the Disney).
What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte, the College of Arts + Architecture, or the School of Architecture?
My favorite thing about the School of Architecture is how close we all are. I think it's super unique to have a group of people that become like a family through the work we do in the School of Architecture. That tends to happen when you spend 8 hours a day together.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts/design community?
I am active in the Uptown Charlotte professional community theatre district. I have been on stage or in front of a camera since I was little, so once I learned how to balance architecture and acting, I used it as a way to blow off steam, and to improve my craft. It is great to continue doing two things I love at the same time.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I am a huge movie fan, so when I am not working or studying, I am either hanging out with friends, exercising, watching movies, or acting on or off stage. Also traveling whenever I get the chance.
