Give a little general information about yourself: how did you become interested in art/design?

I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a crayon. Art has always been my passion, and I knew that art and design was what I wanted to do my entire life. I've known that I wanted to become an architect since middle school and I haven't changed my mind since. It's my passion and I love every second of it.

What kind of career do you hope to have?

I hope to become a licensed, professional architect and specialize in residential architecture. I want to be able to genuinely affect people's lives with my designs and what better place to do that then in their homes.

What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?

I love the community that is fostered within the College of Arts + Architecture. I always feel that the staff, students, and faculty are supporting me and helping me to be my best. I am very thankful for all of the wonderful people that I have gotten to know in the CoAA and I know that those connections will still be strong throughout my career.

Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts or design community?

I am a member of the UNC Charlotte chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students and serve on the executive board as the NCARB advisor to the chapter.

You graduated with your BA in Architecture in 2020. What new things are you learning about in grad school? What's it like continuing into the master's program from undergrad?

I am currently involved in a Co-Op internship through the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure program. This internship has provided me with a very different and equally important perspective on the field of architecture than my undergraduate course work. I am excited to continue both my academic and professional development in this program.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?

When I'm not drawing for class or work, I'm drawing for fun. In what little free time I do have, I love to put on a YouTube playlist and go to town on a sketchbook.
