Give a little general information about yourself: how did you become interested in dance? How old were you when you began dancing?

As a toddler, I loved to escape my house, as well as run across the pews in church. Due to my abundance of energy, my mom had to choose between putting me in soccer or dance. At three years old, I chose the latter. Since then, I have studied, ballet, modern, and contemporary dance. In high school, I decided to expand my horizons, and danced with Audrey Baran's apprentice company, BD2, for three years.

What kind of career do you hope to have?

After graduation, I plan to pursue a Masters in Business Administration. My goal is to become an entrepreneur and own a business.

What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte, the College of Arts + Architecture, or the dance department?

My favorite things about the dance department are the close-knit community, as well as the opportunities! This past spring, I had the chance to perform in New York City for guest artist Netta Yerushalmy's piece, and over the summer I studied abroad in Italy, immersing myself in the dance, culture, and Baroque architecture.

Do you participate in any community cultural activities or work in the Charlotte arts community? If so, please describe.

I am currently a member of M.O.V.E. Dance Alliance (where I previously served as the documentation officer,) as well as a preceptor for the dance liberal studies course. My responsibilities include documenting rehearsals and other M.O.V.E. events; for my preceptor job, I assist in getting students where they need to be in class, as well as share opportunities for them to be involved with the arts.

When you are not in class, studying, working or rehearsing, what do you like to do for fun?

In my free time, I enjoy crochet, sewing, and spending time with friends
