Give a little general information about yourself: how did you become interested in the arts/design?
I loved to draw cartoon characters as a kid. As I got older, my characters got more and more abstract until I found myself creating abstract art. In high school, I started creating works of art inspired by the various types of music that I listened to, and have been doing so ever sense.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
I would love to have a career as a freelance graphic designer working with the music industry and various non-profit organizations.

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Art & Art History?
My favorite thing about UNC Charlotte’s Department of Art is how exposed I am to art. There are many galleries, classes, art displays, and students who inspire me to create more art.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community? If so, please describe.
I am a member of Both UNCC’s AIGA chapter, and I am a member of UNCC’s illustration club.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
One of my favorite things to do when I’m not studying, working, or in class, is to visit Charlotte’s music scene. Going to a concert, a bar with a live performance, or even seeing someone play their music outside in Uptown always makes me happy. I also enjoy going to different art galleries around Charlotte. For my lazier days though, being at home and watching tv is all I need.
