How did you become interested in dance?
My friends got me into dancing during high school. They had to choreograph semester projects to submit for our Fall/Spring dance concert. Most of the time they had to be group pieces, so my friends would just ask me if I wanted to be involved. Of course, I said “yes” to be a friend, but I had no clue it would be something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
The future career that I hope to have involves dancing and choreographing. I would really love to do that well into my prime and past it too. I am drawn to modern technique, but since I’ve been studying dance, I have grown an appreciation for it all, so I am completely open to anything that comes my way. Towards the end, I would love to teach.

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Dance?
My favorite thing about the Department of Dance is the people, who include my peers and professors. Everyone is very encouraging, open, and cooperative. The people I dance with in class are, hopefully, going to be life-long friends. I also feel as though my professors genuinely care about my passions as well as my future. I am being pushed to achieve more for myself, and I couldn’t thank my professors more for it.

When you are not in class, studying, working, or rehearsing, what do you like to do for fun?
I really enjoy hanging around the people that I love, playing video games, cooking, and staying active.
