How did you become interested in dance?
I started dancing when I was four years old at Main Street Dance and stayed until I graduated from high school. Junior year, I realized how much I loved this art and wanted to continue with it into college. I had a friend in the dance program here at UNC Charlotte, so I decided to visit and fell in love with the campus and the program.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
I would love to be able to combine dance and marketing. Both of these fields will allow me to utilize my creativity and give me endless opportunities. Dance has been something that I have loved and has given me confidence since I was a kid, and I can’t wait to pursue it further and see what life has to offer.

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Dance?
I love all of the unique opportunities I've experienced here at UNC Charlotte. The Department of Dance offers opportunities to experience new styles, such as the Broadway Dance Center auditions and the variety of guest classes. It is also an incredibly welcoming and tight-knit community that makes everyone feel comfortable and enjoy their time.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I volunteer at Factory Church in Concord by helping run their Youth Social Media page and other events they have. I am also the president of the dance club Range of Motion Dance Ensemble.

When you are not in class, studying, working, or rehearsing, what do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy spending time with my close friends. We love trying new restaurants, watching movies, and traveling to places like the beach or up to the mountains to watch a sunrise.
