How did you become interested in art?
I became interested in art at a very young age, as many artists have. I think becoming interested in art-making and my interest in art’s purpose happened at different times. My creativity was encouraged at a young age. This is when I became interested in the process of creating art. My interests matured alongside myself, and I became interested in art’s purpose after I was exposed to many different people in college.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to have a career that allows me to "do the most good." That goal is best carried out in education, I feel. My dream is to become an art teacher in a high school where I can encourage communication, understanding, and accessibility with art.

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Art & Art History?
I love the collaborative relationship between students, teachers, and disciplines. There is always help available to those who seek it, and there are always people who want to see you succeed.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
A lot of my free time is dedicated to writing and reading. I also like to engage in video games, watching YouTube videos, playing board games, and playing dice games.
