Give a little general information about yourself: how did you become interested in theatre?
When I first moved to Charlotte 12 years ago, I started getting involved with productions at the Matthews Playhouse theatre. I instantly fell in love with performing and I continued my training at Northwest School of the Arts, where I majored in musical theatre and theatre. Something about the theatre community in Charlotte brought a sense of family to me, and that’s when I knew that I needed to major in theatre, because I wanted that feeling to continue wherever I go.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
My passion is performing and I envision a career as an actor, particularly in musical theatre, but also as a singer-songwriter. I could also see myself in a production-based field, such as artist management or arts administration.

What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture or Department of Theatre?
My favorite thing about the COA+A and the Department of Theatre is the people. Before I transferred to UNC Charlotte, I didn’t have the best experience at school in terms of making friends and connecting with faculty. Not only have I made some of the closest friendships, but the faculty members are some of the most amazing people I’ve worked with. I’m a member of the Musical Theatre Certificate program, and the co-coordinators, Prof. Laura Waringer and Dr. Sequina DuBose, are truly invested in the success and well-being of their students. They rock!

When you are not in class, studying, working or rehearsing, what do you like to do for fun?
Aside from school, I write and record my own music! I already have some music released on platforms like Apple Music & Spotify and I’m currently working on putting out my first studio album. Visit my website!
