Part-Time Lecturer in Theatre (Acting)

Marilyn Carter’s experience spans the gamut of professional acting, directing and instruction. She earned her BFA in Play Production at the University of Arizona and an MFA in Acting from the Yale Drama School, where she studied with Stella Adler, Robert Lewis and Andre Gregory, among others. She lived in New York for a time acting and directing off-Broadway and off-off Broadway productions. Since moving to Charlotte she has continued teaching and directing as well as appearing in films and TV commercials (including “Prince of Tides”, which was shot in South Carolina). In 2005 she began as Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Theatre at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Her most recent appearance was a principal role with Three Bone Theatre in 4000 Miles.
