COVID-19

Effective at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 26, no one other than those employees designated as essential and those students remaining in residence halls should be on campus. Buildings will require a 49er ID card to enter via swipe access.

General Information

Following the UNC System directive to suspend in-person, non-essential services to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the CoA+A IT office and labs are closed and unable to perform any hardware repairs.  Protecting the health, safety, and well-being of our campus community is our first priority. We appreciate your understanding.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any issues or questions you may have regarding any technical difficulties you are experiencing while teleworking and teaching off-campus. You can submit an email directly to coaa-help@uncc.edu which will automatically generate a ticket.  Our team will generally respond to your request within 4 to 8 hours.


FOR STUDENTS

What software is available to students during this time?

Discover available software for students (remote work). Additional software available also includes AutoDesk and Adobe Creative Cloud (Available until May 31st, 2020).

Rhino 6 is available as well. You may use Rhino 6 as a 90 day free trial at this time. In order to activate the license, please follow the instructions below, you will need to download Cisco AnyConnect for VPN access first. Learn how to Install VPN and how to connect to VPN.

Here are the steps in order to connect to the Zoo Server for Rhino 6:

  1. Open Cisco AnyConnect
  2. In the textbox type: vpn.uncc.edu
  3. Login in with your Niner credentials
  4. Open Rhino 6
  5. If you get a window for your licensing type, click "Connect to Zoo Server"
  6. Click the textbox and type in coaawinkey2.uncc.edu
  7. Click Continue

For staff requiring resources for scanning documents at home, there are a few options.

  • If you were unable to bring your ScanSnap scanners home, you can download  Adobe Scan that can be used via your iPad or your mobile phone. 
  • You can also use Microsoft Office Lens. Learn how to get it for iOS or Android.
