Printing and Computer Labs

STORRS PRINT LAB

The Storrs Print Lab operates for the benefit of the students of the College of Arts + Architecture. The college pays for the student assistants and the students are charged a minimal amount to cover the cost of paper and ink. The office where the plotters are located and print jobs are distributed is located in room 222B of the Storrs building.  Located in Storrs 230, the open access computer lab is adjacent to the Print lab office.  It has 21 Apple iMac computers available for all CoA+A student use and students have 24-7 access using their card swipes.

Please note that these hours are subject to change at any time.  The Print Lab office operates according to the university days of closings and will often have extended hours during peak usage times, such as during final reviews time.  When there is a change to the schedule, an updated schedule (paper sign) is typically posted around studio areas in Storrs buildings as well as the other college buildings including Rowe, Robinson, Macy and Winningham.

Note: The Print Lab can accommodate almost all of your printing needs, from US Letter to 44" photo reproductions. While we do what we can to get the best color possible, it is highly advisable to do a test print before sending your final prints, as colors may differ from the screen to the printer.

All printing is charged through a system known as PaperCut. The system acts as an escrow account for student printing. Students purchase "top up" cards with their 49er card, then enter the card number into their PaperCut account. Their account is then credited and they can print until their balance reaches zero. Balances can be transferred to other students, but can not be taken out of the PaperCut system. Jobs that did not print will not be charged, and refunds can be requested through the PaperCut system. All refunds go back into the student's PaperCut account. Please inquire with our student staff inside the Print Lab office for additional information on accessing your Papercut accounts.
